Product Review: Mamaearth Anti Hair Fall Kit

*** This is not a sponsored post. The views expressed here are my own and not influenced by any means. ***

Hey there! So, finally I'm here with the review on the Anti Hair Fall Kit that Mamaearth sent me. I have been using it regularly for two weeks now and am ready to give you my take on the products. So, without further ado, let's get started!

As I had mentioned in my unboxing post, the kit includes four products - the Root Restore Hair Oil, the Happy Heads Shampoo, the No More Tangles Conditioner and the Pro-Growth Hair Tonic. These products are supposed to be used in a step wise manner.

Note: All Mamaearth products are made without any harmful chemicals such as parabens and sulphates.

First Step - Root Restore Hair Oil

The Root Restore Hair Oil is a concoction of many beneficial oils for your hair. It contains oils like rosemary oil, bhringraj oil, coconut oil, almond oil, olive oil, orange oil, evening primrose oil, jojoba oil and Vitmain E.  That's a host of goodness, isn't it?!?

The oil doesn't feel too greasy but what I love most about it, is the fragrance. It smells citrusy and wonderful that just perks up my mood whenever I apply it. It is to be applied and wait for a minimum of 30 minutes before washing it off. It does not contain any mineral oil and is primarily for repairing damaged hair and to strengthen the roots.

What's more, it comes with a pump, so there isn't any wastage and you get the right amount of product to use.

Second Step - Happy Heads Shampoo

The Happy Heads Shampoo is what you use to wash your hair once you have applied the above mentioned oil. This shampoo helps with gentle cleansing without any harmful chemicals to nourish your scalp. It contains vitamins like A and E and also Biotin, Horse Chestnut and Amla with a touch of Orange and Lavender essential oils.

So you can imagine how lovely this smells! It comes in a pump bottle which is very convenient. Recommended for all hair types, this shampoo is a clear one and should be used thrice a week to maintain a clean and healthy scalp.

Third Step - No More Tangles Conditioner

The No More Tangles Conditioner is recommended after every shampoo use to tame your mane and to provide the required nourishment for your hair. The conditioner contains milk protein, cocoa butter, fenugreek and the likes with a number of essential oils like lavender, orange, tea tree, cedarwood etc.

This conditioner helps to strengthen brittle hair and to control frizziness. I personally like to use only half a pump of it as I have oily hair and using too much conditioner weighs my hair down. So for girls with oily hair, a little goes a long way!

It does smell similar to the shampoo but a tad stronger and also, it is creamy in color unlike the clear shampoo.

Fourth Step - Pro-Growth Hair Tonic

Now this product I was excited to try! The Pro-Growth Hair Tonic is a combination of natural ingredients that help nourish the hair from root to tip. It contains caffeine, red ginseng, milk protein, along with basil essential oil and geranium essential oil.

The tonic is to be used on a daily basis, on dry or wet hair. It feels like water but smells amazing. The tonic is not greasy at all and one can directly spray it onto the scalp, massage it in for a couple minutes before brushing/combing. It dries up fast but the smell disappears soon after.

I like to use the tonic daily and find it so easy to do so using the pump that it comes with.

Results After Two Weeks

Well, in the beginning of using these products, I did experience a bit of hair fall but I guess that is normal when one changes the brand of shampoo and such. So, I continued with the products to gather my final thoughts on them. Soon after, the hair fall reduced and now it has really made a difference. I was experiencing hair fall before I started using the Anti Hair Fall Kit and now I can see that the hair fall is much lesser.

I really love the Hair oil and the hair tonic! I know I have already mentioned this before but I love the way they smell! Mamearth always includes essential oils in their products and I simply love it. And knowing that the oil has so much of goodness in it, makes the experience even better I guess! The hair tonic is so easy to use and non greasy and that is a boon for an oily haired girl like me. The shampoo and the conditioner work well together but as I said, even one pump of the conditioner is too heavy for my hair, hence I go for half a pump and that works well. I do have a little frizziness and it definitely helps tame that.

All in all, I really like how the hair fall kit works. My hair has a new found bounce and shine to it and I'm basking on it at the moment!

Also, a special mention about the packaging. I appreciate that the Mamearth team has thought this through and packaged the products with pumps and sprays, making the experience more enjoyable. That's a big plus!

I would totally recommend this kit to anyone experiencing  hair fall.  Be assured that you are using a safe, non toxic product which will help you regain you mane back.

Product Review: Aveeno Baby - Daily Moisture Lotion

Aveeno Baby is a popular and trusted brand all over the world and it has now launched in India too. They have a range of baby products that offer to protect our babies in a gentle, harmless way. As a parent myself, I am aware of the scarcity of safe skin/hair products for our little ones. Aveeno Baby promises to solve that issue for us moms.

When I was sent the Aveeno Baby Daily Moisture Lotion for review, I was excited to try it on my little one. But before we get into the review, here are a few claims by Aveeno Baby (described on the back of the product):

"Aveeno Baby Daily Moisture Lotion contains colloidal oatmeal blended with rich emollients to soothe your baby's delicate, dry skin. The naturally nourishing, non-greasy formula absorbs quickly, moisturizes for a full 24 hours, and it contains no drying alcohols and won't clog pores. It is hypoallergenic and fragrance free, so it won't irritate baby's sensitive skin. It's designed to be gentle enough for newborns.

Fragrance-free, Paraben-free, Phthalate-free, Hypoallergenic, Steroid-free.

Aveeno Baby Daily Moisture Lotion can be used everyday to help keep your baby's skin soft, smooth and healthy.

The Aveeno brand is Pediatrician recommended."

My thoughts

I received a tube with a net weight of 8 OZ or 227 g and I have been using it on my son for about 10 days now.

I absolutely love the packaging! The beige colored tube resonated with the main ingredient used - oatmeal, and the baby blue cap is so apt for baby products. The consistency of the cream is thick and initially, I was unsure how it would spread on my son's body. But I was surprised when I found that it glides on easily and absorbs into the skin quickly, leaving a soft and nourished skin behind.

True to its claim, it keeps the skin moisturized for long and is non greasy and doesn't have any scent. My son didn't have any skin issues or irritation of any kind after use and with the impressive ingredient list, I believe this lotion would be a perfect fit for babies's sensitive skin.

Although, I do wish it were a tad bit scented. I personally like baby products to have a subtle scent.

Overall, I find the Aveeno Daily Moisture Lotion to be a very nourishing and moisturizing product that can be used everyday to keep our babies soft and supple. Absolutely safe, it is a trustworthy product for our precious little ones.

Mamaearth Traditional Recipes: Product Review

Having previously reviewed products from Mamaearth, I was more than happy when they asked me to review their new range of products called Traditional Recipes. These are the newly launched herb-infused Health and Wellness range of products. I was sent two of them - Omega 3 DHA supplements and A Feel Better Tea pack. All the products in the range can be consumed by anyone, irrespective of whether you are pregnant or not. Even if you are an experienced mom, like me, these will be beneficial for you.

Let's get to the reviews.

Feel Better Tea

Mamaearth sent me a pack of 30 tea bags of the Feel Better Tea. The main ingredients of this tea are chamomile, ginger and nettle but it also contains mint, fennel and fenugreek seeds for added benefits. The Feel Better tea improves immunity and aids digestion. Moreover, it does not contain caffeine and is 100% natural, sourced from the Himalayas. It will definitely help with acid reflux and heartburn that many women face during pregnancy.

The tea is very subtle and you can definitely taste the fennel in it. It relaxes the stomach and calms your nerves after drinking. Essential for moms with super active children at home, what say?

Note: It is mentioned in the pack that it is best to avoid this tea if you are in your first trimester of pregnancy. Also, if you are allergic to Fennel or Nettle, then this is not recommended.

Omega 3 DHA Supplements

Omega 3 supplements are very essential during pregnancy, especially for the brain development of the baby. All doctors prescribe the same to expecting mothers. It should be continued even after delivery as it helps to maintain a healthy heart and is good for immunity, skin and the eyes. Usually all Omega 3 supplements are made from fish oils but the one from Mamaearth is actually plant derived, basically a vegetarian source of omega 3, sourced from plant algae.

You do get a whiff when you open the container but I have found that there is no after taste when you consume the pill. I have had loads of Omega 3 capsules during pregnancy and the only thing that irked me was the fishy aftertaste of it, especially since I'm a vegetarian. If you are someone like me, then this could be a better alternative. This bottle here contains 60 capsules.

Mamaearth's new launch of Traditional recipes is definitely what we, as parents, are looking for these days. Their products promise a chemical free environment for our babies and us parents and I cannot think of anything more ideal. To conclude my review, I would say that Mamaearth is definitely coming up with innovative and parent-friendly ideas to make parenting much healthier and easier. Kudos to them! I hope to continue seeing more from them.

Product Review: Mamaearth Skincare Products for Babies

A very happy new year to all you lovely moms out there! Hope you all have a fun filled year with your little ones!

I recently received a hamper of skincare products from the brand, Mamaearth. They are a brand that, according to their website, is every parent's friend. They create products for children from 0-5 years of age, that are devoid of any kind of harmful chemicals we so often find ourselves surrounded with. Mamaearth products have been certified by MadeSafe for being toxin free. Every single product is :

  • Certified toxin free (no parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, sulfates etc.)
  • Dermatologically tested
  • MadeSafe certified
  • Highly efficacious with goodness of natural ingredients like Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, Cocoa Butter etc.

The hamper

There were four products in the hamper. A daily moisturizing lotion, a body wash, a shampoo and a massage oil. I loved the packaging with the cute little animal characters! Let's get down to the review of the products one by one.

1. Moisturizing Daily Lotion for Babies

The lotion is to be used on a daily basis and hence is light but moisturizing at the same time. It smells heavenly, like chamomile.

2. Deeply Nourishing Body Wash for Babies

The body wash is tear free, which was my main concern to be frank. A little goes a long way and due to the addition of orange essential oil, it smells absolutely refreshing.

3. Gentle Cleansing Shampoo for Babies

A tear free formula again, this shampoo lathers up nicely to gently wash the baby’s hair. This contains orange essential oil too, so both the mommy and baby can perk up!

4. Soothing Massage Oil for Babies

The massage oil is the best mix of goodness you can find. It contains olive oil, virgin coconut oil, jojoba oil, chamomile oil, sweet almond oil and sesame oil. It is not too heavy on the skin and is perfect for a relaxing body massage.

I tried and tested the above products on my four year old and it is impressive. Not only is it safe, which is what we, as parents, want for our kids ultimately, but also fun. My son agreed to a bath for once without a fuss, thanks to his new elephant shampoo! I, as a mother, would definitely recommend trying these out.

Mamaearth has other products like sunscreen and insect repellent too. To know more about Mamaearth, please visit :http://www.momjunction.com/mama-earth/

Pizza Sandwich Recipe

What's the usual answer you get when your kids are asked what they would prefer to eat? If your answer is pizza, then I can imagine you trying to convince them that eating pizza practically every day is actually bad! I hear you mommies! This recipe is tried and tested at my house and, more often than not, satisfies my kids whenever they crave for pizzas. An easy, vegetarian pizza sandwich which makes both the baccha party and moms happy, I hope!

Note: I'm not giving a fixed quantity for the ingredients here as it will wary according to the number of sandwiches you want to make.

Ingredients:

Bread slices (White/brown, anything that you prefer)
Pasta Sauce (Homemade or store bought)
Veggies like onions, capsicums, tomatoes, olives (all chopped)
Mixed Italian herbs (dried)
Cheese slices
Salt and pepper
Butter or oil

Method:

Spread the pasta sauce on two bread slices. Top one slice with the veggies of your choice and sprinkle mixed herbs, a little salt and pepper. Top it with a slice of cheese and cover it with the second slice of bread. Spread some oil or butter on the sandwich and grill it in a sandwich maker till the cheese melts and the sandwiches are golden brown.

Serve with tomato ketchup and a side of fries, if desired. Enjoy!
